BunnyBees Rabbitry and Rescue was recently contacted regarding a very special event at Fernandez Elementary. Vanessa and Ashley are students involved in a multi aged program at Fernandez that combines different grade levels in one classroom. Their mother Wendy contacted me regarding a special "pet zoo" project that allowed the students to research a pet of their choice on the anotomy, habbitat and appropriate care of the animal. I was thrilled and jumped at the opportunity to help educate any members of the communtity on rabbit care. Each child displayed a poster which included pictures and important facts on their pet. I visited their home with a few of my rabbits so the girls could interact and make their own observations on their project. On friday May 8,2009 I appeared at Fernandez with my rabbit Lola and a few bunnies from recent litters so they could display their research as well as their "borrowed" pets. There were animals from hissing roaches and mice to turtles and ferrets! I was so impressed with the knowledge and respect these kids presented for these wonderful creatures! I was very honored to be asked to participate in such a wonderful experience and hope to be a part of it in the future! I want to say a special thanks to Vanessa, Ashley and their family! You made me so proud!
